Somnoplasty^SM is a relatively painless procedure that can deliver controlled radiofrequency energy into the soft palate for the treatment of habitual snoring. A study of 76 patients reveals that this simple, office-based procedure significantly reduces snoring that is produced by the vibration of excess soft palate tissue during sleep. Many patients in this study were able to return to normal activities the same day as surgery without pain medication.
